An SSL certificate, which stands for Secure Sockets Layer and is easily seen if active on a website by the padlock icon in the top left-hand corner of your browser’s address bar, encrypts and authenticates the data passed between a website visitor and the server. Whereas this used to only be required where payment information was being sent, these days all data needs to be sent securely. Core benefits are:
